ROMNEY HERE SUNDAY
Dan Hirschhorn, the National Politics Reporter for The Daily reports that Mitt Romney is set to make a last-minute campaign stop on Sunday in Pennsylvania, The Daily has learned. Details are still being determined and with scheduling for the final days of the campaign still fluid, it’s possible Romney could still bypass the state. But two top Pennsylvania Republican officials and a Romney adviser said a large rally in the vote-rich southeastern part of the state is in the works for Sunday. The final decision is likely to be made on Friday. “I’m 99 percent certain he’s coming,” one senior level Republican official told The Daily. “It’s going to be a huge rally and it’s going to be very successful.” “They said all along, ‘if you get within a certain margin we’ll consider it,’” another top Republican said. “They said they’d come the final week, and we got there.” This does make sense. Romney is scheduled to be back and forth through Ohio this weekend. He is also scheduled for New Hampshire which he needs to get to 270. A stop over in the Keystone State is as Dr. Spock would say, “logical”.
BLOOMBERG’S BACKHANDED SLAP
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorsed President Obama yesterday. The New York City Independent came out for the President against Mitt Romney but at the same time called for the re-election of Mr. Obama. But Bloomberg did say the President’s first term was a disappointment. While New York’s Electoral votes are firmly in Obama’s corner, look for a lower than usual turnout in the embattled city of New York. That will ramp up Romney’s popular vote.
CASEY/SMITH SHOWDOWN
The Senate race between Tom Smith and Senator Casey is still getting close. But opinion oolls in the state show Smith an unfavorable rating due to the Casey ads that castigate Smith’s role in the Tea Party. It is interesting that both men have played the coal miner card. Smith has said he worked in the mines and then became a mine owner. Kind of a boy makes good story. Casey said that his grandfather was a cold miner. Some people have disputed the claim but it is true that his grandfather, Alphonso Casey worked in the mines at the age of 11 as a mule tender. A mule tender was a job that usually a young boy had. He would guide the mule down to the shaft, help load the wagon full of coal and then guide it back to the surface. Casey’s grandfather later became a lawyer. It is ironic that in this modern age of the 21st century, the two candidate for one of the top offices in the State is debating the bonafides of who worked harder and got further in the mines.

Even though the President was on a campaign stop today, he did continue his job as Commander In Chief. Check this out:
Aboard Air Force One en route to Las Vegas, the President talked to New York Governor Cuomo about the recovery efforts underway in his state. The two will convene another call later tonight with other local officials. FEMA Administrator Fugate will also join the call.
The President also convened conference calls with state and local elected officials in New Jersey and Connecticut to ensure that federal partners continue to bring all available resources to bear to support state and local response efforts and that bureaucratic red tape is not impeding progress.
The call with New Jersey officials included Governor Christie, the state’s emergency manager and more than 700 officials from across the state. The call to discuss Connecticut recovery efforts included Governor Malloy and the state’s emergency manager. FEMA Administrator Fugate also participated in both calls.

Congressman Marino Pulls Out of WVIA's Televised Congressional Debate In 2010, Tom Marino called it "shameful" when his opponent, Chris Carney, agreed to only one debate. Now he is giving the voters ZERO debates. Dingman, PA - The Scollo for Congress campaign was informed today by WVIA that Congressman Tom Marino will not honor his prior commitment to participate in the WVIA-TV debate. Marino said it was due to scheduling conflicts. Scollo requested that Marino release his schedule to the public to show why he is missing the debate. The original debate date had to be moved as a result of Hurricane Sandy and Scollo agreed to participate in any proposed alternative time slot. "This election is too important to let scheduling difficulties get in the way of a full debate on the issues facing Pennsylvania families and seniors," said Scollo. "Marino should step-up to the plate and debate." In 2010, Tom Marino called it "shameful" when his opponent Chris Carney only agreed to one debate. Now he is giving the voters ZERO debates. Though Marino said he did not have time for a one-hour debate, he did find time to tweet about his constituents in the aftermath of the storm. He tweeted: “Happy Halloween and Happy Belated Monday to all of you lucky stiffs who haven’t been to work yet this week.” The tweet was deleted a couple hours later with an apology. Scollo responded. "How can we take this Congressman seriously when he is mocking his constituents devastated by the storm? A child died in our district during this storm. I've been out around Pike County and everywhere I go I see devastation. This district deserves better."
Phil Scollo left Wall Street to start a small business in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He learned hard work and public service early from a New York City Fire Fighter, his father. His business, a management-consulting firm, has served all types of organizations from global corporations to small businesses and government agencies. Phil has lived in Dingman Township, Pennsylvania since 1998 with his wife, Karen. He is the proud father of three children. STILP TO ADDRESS BARLETTA’S CHARGES
Tomorrow, Friday, November 2nd, at 11am outside of the Homeland Center, 1901 N. Fifth Street in Harrisburg, Fourth District Congressional Candidate Gene Stilp will address and clarify false statements made by his opponent, Congressman Lou Barletta regarding the future of Social Security and Medicare. Regarding the false claims, Mr. Stllp said, "Congressman Barletta has been in his commercials and public statements charging that I will not protect Medicare and will harm our seniors. Nothing could be further from the truth. I will set the record straight." Mr Stilp will be accompanied by a 15 foot wheelchair to help emphasis his commitment to protecting Medicare, Social Security and other programs for our seniors.
