MAYBE I’M AMAZED……..that after the statewide elections to little noticed row offices in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, all of a sudden Pennsylvania Democrats have a bench to mount a campaign against the beleaguered Tom Corbett. Both Rob McCord and Kathleen Kane are now the front runners for any run in 2014 against Corbett.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……..that the big election in Luzerne County went just fine thank you with an interim Voter administrator from, Wyoming County. The hand wringing that went down after Lenny Piazza was dispatched seems to prove the old adage that no one is indispensable. And the hysterical caterwauling that went on after Tom Pisano retired (and we were really guilty of that here!) supposedly leaving the county in a lurch really was overblown. No big snafus which begs the question maybe we don’t need another $55,000 a year salary to run our elections. Outsource it.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED………that Tea Party people really took a beating in this election. This should be a message to the GOP that if they keep on embracing these type of candidates with extreme positions, then maybe they might not win many Presidential elections.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED………that right wing talk radio just might be a symptom of the deviousness in this country. Everybody has a right to an opinion but just because there is an opposite view, you can’t hate them. I was not crazy about George W. Bush but I only criticized his policies, not him. We have one President at a time.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……..that the GOP? Romney brain trust let the Obama campaign dictate where the election could be won. By targeting battle ground states, the Democrats made the Republicans head into states where their platform was in some cases diametrically the opposite.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……that the radio will be a poorer place now that my friend Shadoe Steele/Rusty Fender is no longer on the air. We hope his talent and encyclopedic knowledge will find a home elsewhere.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that Marco Rubio the Senator from Florida has scheduled a trip to Altoona, Iowa on November 17th later this month. Iowa is of course the first state that casts a decision in the 2016 Presidential race.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED..................................speaking of Florida, that Miami installed the first ATM for roller bladders.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….once more speaking of Florida, that Jeb Bush has signaled he will run for President in 2016. Of course there is speculation Hillary Clinton will run on the Democratic side. Ahh, new blood. Bush vs Clinton, we haven’t seen that before have we? Oh yes we have!!!
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……..that Barack Obama becomes just the fourth Democratic President in the last 100 years to win a second term. There was Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Bill Clinton and now Mr. Obama. The last Democratic to do that was one General Andrew Jackson.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that vultures can fly for at least six hours without flapping their wings. Kind of like political pundits talking for six straight hours without flapping their gums. Case in point, Dick Morris.
